Smart Companies Are The Next Step Of AI

News at Validation.Run

Remember when we had smart everything?

Smart phones, smart TVs and even smart fridges. That last one didn't pan out. I guess nobody wanted their fridge connected to the internet. But smart TVs are now ubiquitous and smart phones changed everything.

Smart companies are the next frontier. It's what I'm seeing on the horizon by integrating business with 'AI brains' already seeded with growth strategy context.

I've build a growth agent in Claude and the experience has been profound. Not only has it massively leveled up my raw output, but it's forced an operational clean up in the process.

The experience has reinforced how one of the biggest blockers to growth is a lack of focus around the most impactful levers. Call it distraction, procrastination, noise, interruptions from peers and leaders on a whim, shiny object syndrome... The list goes on. The result is frustration, overwhelm, stagnation, and hence the death of growth.

It turns out the growth strategy foundations, which are simple enough to write on a sticky note, are the best operating system for AI to accelerate a business. Or any endeavor that benefits from improvement.

A company hardwired for growth looks like: one that captures every idea, prioritizes them with discipline, runs experiments to validate assumptions, doubles down on winning strategies, and archives all learnings for future iterations.

The problem I'm now facing is making this easy for businesses (that's you dear reader) to adopt. It's easier to start smart, from scratch with AI at the core. And the dinosaurs will be fatally challenged. But somewhere in between these extremes, there's an ambitious path to codify a company, including the most valuable tacit knowledge in the minds of it's people. We'll need flexibility to break things and remake them stronger.

Adding computational infrastructure can free us up to be the creative animals that we are. We need to speak just enough computer to get it done and I'm gearing myself up to be your translator.

Cheers,

Michael

News at Validation.Run AI Learnings (so far) Hey everyone, I've been learning a lot about implementing AI for work lately. Let's go beyond the usual research queries and drafting content. I'm talking about building a growth strategy agent to sync with Notion (where all my work lives) to create a Growth OS or AI-supported growth engine. It's name is Hugo, by the way. In honor of Hugo Weaving for his stellar portrayal of Agent Smith in The Matrix. He's no-nonsense by definition. I'm teaching...
